2012 Meeting Programs

April 5th Program Details
Featured Speaker: Julia Ann Taylor

At the  April 5, 2012 meeting of the Granville County Genealogical Society 1746, Inc., a charter member of the society, Julia Ann Taylor, will be the featured speaker. She will discuss some genealogical research techniques and pitfalls; also, the importance of keeping an open mind when gathering details of interest. With so much information, from a variety of sources, available today, a firm plan of what  you are looking for is crucial also for a successful research venture.

Julia Ann was born and raised in Granville County and except for the time away for home at school at St. Mary’s in Raleigh and the University in Chapel Hill, she has lived in Granville County all her life.  She is married to another Granville County native, Dick Taylor.  They have one son who also lives in Oxford.

The Granville County Genealogical Society 1746, Inc. will meet at 6:30 P.M. April 5, 2012 in the large conference room at the Richard H. Thornton Library on Main Street in Oxford.  Visitors are cordially invited to join with the members of the society in hearing this program.

All GCGS meetings are open to the public and guests are cordially invited to attend.
