2006 Meeting Programs

Featured Speaker: Pello Duncan

On Thursday, January 5, 2006, the Granville County Genealogical Society will kick off its 2006 season with Pello Duncan, Granville County Veterans Service Officer, as the speaker for the evening.

Pello was born and raised in Person County. After finishing high school there, he continued his education at UNC – Chapel Hill. In 1953 he went into the Air Force where he made a career for the next 20 years.

After retiring from the Air Force in 1973, he and his wife Marie, along with their three children, moved to Granville County where he became the Veteran’s Service officer, a position that he presently holds. He enjoys volunteer work, particularly with his church, gardening and his 5 grandchildren and 2 great grand children.

At the 6:30 P.M. meeting, January 5, 2006, to be held in the conference room at the Richard H. Thornton Library in Oxford, Mr. Duncan will discuss genealogical research using Veteran’s Records.

Guests and members are encouraged to attend this program, which promises to be informative and entertaining.
